Before posting the big update, there are a few issues that need to be noted. First of all, the home page and news feed break when there is less than 5 news articles. What happens is that the "div" structure moves the right third of the page, which is where the ad space is located, into the center third of the page. This shouldn't be an issue moving forward because there will always be more than 5 articles, but it is still a good idea to fix it anyway. Second, some page elements are right up against the edge of the browser without any space in between. Third, the image upload page, not the gallery widget, still has primitive functionality and does not give any confirmation or error notice. Lastly, the article body images are pixelated if the image is a low resolution. This is a very simple fix.

These were added in by clicking and dragging the images from the gallery-widget. So far, this has been a stable way to add images, but the safest way is still copying and pasting the image link into the "Add Image" dialog in the text editor.
